Exploring Mantra & Kirtan! with Mike Cohen

Join Kirtan Leaders Mike Cohen (Kirtan Leader Institute) and Kavita Kat Macmillan (Open Heart Kirtan) for this fun and informative workshop that explores mantra and kirtan practice.

We will chant together and explore a deeper understanding of the essentials of Kirtan through stories, mantra repetition and sharing personal experiences.

You will learn about:

* Deities, and what they represent & their energetic qualities
* Mantras, and what they mean
* Sanskrit - the ancient language of the yogis
* Nada yoga, sacred sound & the importance of listening
* The history of Bhakti Yoga

Of course, there will LOTS of chanting throughout!

This is an intro to Mike's Kirtan 101 course which he will bring to Portland in 2018. Come sing with us and get to know this practice through experiencing the Divine Names, your voice and the energy created when we sit and chant together.
